“ This restaurant specializes in Persian breakfast / brunch and tends to get busy right after opening time - so it's best to get there early. The interior decoration is beautiful, adorned with Persian patterns, and there are 2 carpeted seating areas to get a true "eating Persian style" feel. The food is super delicious! There are different combinations of eggs that you can have - with halloumi cheese, spinach, tomatoes, potatoes, etc. They also have some specials such as soups. I highy recommend getting the sweet and savoury "khorma ardeh" (dates stuffed with walnuts and ginger, drizzled with tahini). We ordered: - Paneer Boroshteh (scrambled eggs cooked with fresh halloumi cheese & garlic, topped with nigella seeds, and served with Barbari bread (Iranian flatbread), feta cheese, smoked salmon, marinated olives, grape tomatoes, fresh greens, potatoes & lentils purée) - Spinach Narguesi (sunny-side-up eggs cooked over a bed of fresh sautéed spinach, topped with crispy onions, and served with Barbari bread (Iranian flatbread), feta cheese, marinated olives, grape tomatoes, potatoes & lentils purée) - Khorma Ardeh (dates stuffed with walnuts & ginger, drizzled with ardeh / tahini) - Persian Chai Tea ”
“ Came by Takht-e Tavoos on a Saturday around noon with a party of 4. Although the restaurant was busy, we did not have to wait for a table. Once seated, the waitress provided us with menus and water. Once we had all made up our minds about our orders, food shortly arrived after that. I ordered a weekend special (I don't quite remember what it's called) with eggplant in a tomato paste, 2 fried eggs, and rice. The others ordered what I believe is called the bandari and we all shared a chai tea. Don't be fooled by the pictures you see online, the portions were big and filling! I had trouble finishing my dish even though everything was delicious. Overall, great casual atmosphere to catch up with friends over brunch with friendly and attentive service. ”
“ I can't say enough good things about Takhte Tavoos--this place is an absolute gem! Every time I come here, I leave full, happy, and already thinking about my next visit. First off, the Dizi is unreal. It's rich, hearty, and packed with so much flavor. Breaking apart the broth, mashing up the meat and beans, and scooping it all up with fresh sangak bread? Pure comfort food magic. And don't even get me started on the Zeytoon Parvardeh--those marinated olives with walnuts and pomegranate molasses are next-level delicious. The perfect mix of tangy, nutty, and just the right amount of sweetness. The whole vibe of the restaurant is warm and inviting, and you can tell the food is made with real care. If you love Persian food--or just love good food--you need to try this place. Easily one of my favorite spots in the city! ”
“ Tavoos specializes in Iranian cuisine, and it is absolutely delicious. We ordered the double cream and honey, mirza ghasemi with a side of Barbary bread, and mushroom herb nargesi. We absolutely loved dipping the Barbary bread in the mirza ghasemi and double cream and honey, as it was the perfect mix of sweet and savoury. The flavours of the dishes are unreal, making Tavoos a standout brunch spot compared to your standard American diner. ”
“ Best place to experience Persian breakfast in the city of Toronto. The food is amazing and I love the owners. ”
“ Amazing all over Real authentic feeling of Iran True Persian experience Everything was as expected Don't let the outside fool you Go in and enjoy real authentic Persian dishes ”
“ Persian girls fly to Toronto from Miami and we had to check out this Persian inspired breakfast / brunch spot. If it isn't for the fresh noon barbarri to the chai, it has to be for the cute Persian accessories all through the restaurant. We waited around 10-15 minutes for a table on a Saturday. We wanted to try it all but most of us ordered the sossis eggs, Haleem, or paneer eggs. Everything was so tasty! It's so nice to go to a Persian restaurant because often times you find things on the menu that your Maman and baba never made since they didn't grow up eating it! 10/10 would come back here! ”
“ I like the ambiance here. The food is average. For example Panir boroshte doesn't really taste authentic. The tea is amazing. Also the staff is not friendly. They're too serious. ”
“ If one person from your pair/group arrives early, they can put their name down using chalk and write their name down on the numbered waiting list. I've only been here on a Sunday for brunch and the restaurant is bustling. Food: I ordered the guisavah with sunnyside up eggs sautéed along side dried dates, dried apricots and walnuts. This breakfast plate was sweet and savoury. There is a good mix of dry, moist, crunch and chewy elements. My friends enjoyed the bandari, a weekend special with spicy halal sausages sautéed with potatoes in a tomato garlic sauce. Service & atmosphere: Lively and the staff are informative and helpful. Price: I felt full after my meal and everything tasted delicious. Persian breakfast is not common in Toronto so I found everything well priced! Their only one expensive dish is $18.95, everything else is under $16! ”
